What’s New for 2027 Ford F-150

The 2027 Ford F-150 brings several updates to the lineup, starting with refreshed exterior styling on the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum trims. These models receive newly designed grilles and new wheel designs that give the truck a more modern appearance while maintaining the familiar F-150 look. Ford is also expanding technology with the introduction of BlueCruise with Towing, allowing drivers with an active BlueCruise subscription to use hands-free driving on more than 130,000 miles of pre-qualified divided highways while towing, with the driver still required to remain attentive and watch the road.

The 2027 F-150 also gets an updated powertrain lineup with a new standard 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 replacing the previous 2.7-liter EcoBoost. Ford says the new engine provides roughly 10% to 11% more torque in the range commonly used during everyday driving. The 5.0-liter V8 also returns to the King Ranch and Platinum trims after previously being unavailable on those models, making the V8 available throughout the F-150 lineup. Other available engines include the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with up to 500 lb.-ft. of torque and 13,500 pounds of maximum towing capacity, along with the 3.5-liter PowerBoost Hybrid offering up to 570 lb.-ft. of torque and available Pro Power Onboard.

Ford is also making the F-150’s off-road capabilities more accessible for 2027 with new entry-level Tremor and Raptor configurations. These versions focus on retaining the hardware and capability associated with their respective off-road models while reducing some comfort and convenience equipment. The entry-level Tremor, for example, uses an STX-based configuration and removes features such as heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, off-road running boards and the power-sliding rear window. The entry-level Raptor similarly prioritizes off-road performance by removing or simplifying select interior and convenience features while retaining its high-performance off-road equipment.

Another major addition for 2027 is the first-ever Ford F-150 Carhartt, available on 4×4 XLT Crew Cab models. Developed with Carhartt, the new package combines rugged styling and work-oriented features, including unique 20-inch wheels, Carhartt badging and graphics, off-road running boards, a spray-in bedliner, signature headlamps and a cowl hood. Inside, it adds two-tone Carhartt-themed seat covers, accent stitching, branded all-weather floor mats and other distinctive trim details. The F-150 Carhartt is scheduled to become available in early 2027.
