What are the Steps to Using BlueCruise?
- Make sure you’re on a compatible road, also known as a “Blue Zone.” As we mentioned above, you can use Ford’s interactive map on their website to see the full scope of BlueCruise’s reach, and pre-plan your trips as you need. However, your Ford will also let you know when you’re in a Blue Zone by sending you an alert on your digital cluster display, and giving you the option to activate BlueCruise when applicable.
- Next, you’ll be able to start using BlueCruise if you decide to do so! In order to start using BlueCruse, you’ll need to make sure Lane Centering is on, and then simply turn on Adaptive Cruise Control as well. From there, your BlueCruise system will take over, and you’ll be able to let go of the wheel while still keeping your eyes on the road. If at any point you want to manually steer, you can do so without having to turn off BlueCruise.
- Once BlueCruise is on, you’ll be able to have a more relaxed driving experience, and allow the system to take over certain aspects of your drive. For example, BlueCruise can actually change lanes for you on designated highways!
