How much power does the 2023 Explorer possess?
Three mighty engines are available for the 2023 Explorer, and each one gives you a ton of power and torque, which you can use to tow anything! The first engine is a turbocharged 2.3-liter, providing 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Higher trims will get a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that pounds the pavement with a massive 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. But wait, we still have a hybrid engine to tell you about! The hybrid is a 3.3-liter V6 with 318 horsepower! All engines come with a smooth ten-speed automatic transmission, and most will come with rear-wheel-drive. All-wheel drive is available on all trims outside Timberland, where it comes standard.
What are the features of the 2023 Explorer?
Overall, eight trim levels are available for the 2023 Explorer, and no matter which one you go with, drivers and passengers will be treated to several tech, luxury, and performance items. The base trim has LED headlights, a power liftgate, tri-zone climate control, an 8-inch Apple CarPlay and Android Auto touchscreen, and a six-speaker sound system. More creature comforts are available for the XLT trim, which has roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and a power driver’s seat. For more performance features, the ST-Line is here for you, as it comes standard with 20-inch wheels, a black exterior trim, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and simulated leather upholstery. The Explorer can even go off-road with the Timberland trim, all-terrain tires, front tow hooks, limited slip differential, and underbody skid plates. The higher trims have the most luxury and tech items, such as sport front seats, a digital instrument panel, paddle shifters, a digital gauge cluster, extended leather upholstery, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, and a spectacular 14-speaker B&O sound system.
How the Explorer keeps you safe
So, we have covered the power of the engine and all of the features you can get with the Explorer, which means it’s time to see how the Explorer keeps you safe on and off the road. For example, a standard Forward Collision Mitigation system will let you know when a frontal collision is imminent and can even apply the brakes in certain situations. Additionally, a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross-Path Detection checks the areas around your Explorer so you will know the best time to change lanes. The final safety system we have to discuss is the Trailer Reverse Control, which adjusts the brakes of the Explorer and controls the trailer movement whenever your trailer starts to sway. If you go with one of the higher trims, the Explorer also has adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
